Entertainment Relations Regional Director, East Coast

Gibson Brands, Inc. (f/k/a Gibson Guitar Corp), the world’s premier manufacturer of musical instruments and professional audio equipment, is seeking an Entertainment Relations Regional Director (ERRD) for the East Coast market. The ERRD-East Coast will report directly to the Executive Vice President of Entertainment Relations and Philanthropy. They will be responsible for developing and executing multiple strategies and tactics to reach potential consumers of Gibson products by creating both raw impressions and impressions with a purpose through numerous avenues. They will also be responsible for leading a group of Entertainment Relationship Professionals (ER Pros) and the overseeing all East Coast ER activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Leads the development and executing of multiple strategies and tactics to reach potential consumers of Gibson products by creating both raw impressions and impressions with a purpose through numerous media avenues.
  • Develops and implements a systematic process for tracking and reporting on the progress of the development & execution of the above strategies and tactics.
  • Assesses and reports on the progress made within each line of business (Product Division or Regional Division) and with the overall company marketing strategy.
  • Partners with the Public Relations and Corporate Marketing functions to effectively increase (turbo charge) the number of raw impressions or impressions with a purpose from a deal or opportunity.
  • Effectively develops relationships and negotiates deals with the most popular artists, noted up and coming artists, leaders and others in our more traditional sectors such as the music industry, television, movies, radio, concerts, festivals, etc. that garner the largest exposure or impressions.
  • Effectively develops relationships and negotiates deals with the popular figures, noted up and coming figures, leaders, and others in non-traditional sectors such as sports, sports entertainment, fashion, food, and social media that garner the largest exposure or impressions.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable, ownership mentality environment within the company. Establishes a culture that is driven to win and hates to lose.
  • Effectively communicates goals to their team and the broader organization. Inspires team to meet or exceed the stated goals and effectively deals with under performers and appropriately recognizes those who meet or exceed their goals.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the music, entertainment, fashion or related industries is required.
  • BA/BS required.
  • Must possess knowledge of all media ratings system, programming, retail environments, sales and marketing functions.
  • Experience with successfully utilizing social media and the internet in creating both raw impressions and impressions with a purpose is highly desired.
  • Experience in and an understanding of endorsement agreements, entertainment contracts and music labels organizational structures is highly desired.
  • Experience in lifestyle marketing and promotion is a big plus.
  • Knowledge of technology based entertainment, media promotions, corporate strategic alliances and consumer marketing a plus.
  • Past experience managing a small team is highly desired.
  • Possesses compelling planning and analytical skills.
