Global Executive Vice President of Asset Management and Procurement

Gibson Brands, Inc. (f/k/a Gibson Guitar Corp), the world’s premier manufacturer of musical instruments and professional & consumer audio equipment, is seeking a Global Executive Vice President of Asset Management and Procurement. The Global EVP will be located in Nashville and report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. They will be responsible for leading a global team of professionals in asset management, procurement, inventory control, logistics, and planning. The EVP is the visionary thought leader for Asset Management and Procurement and must possess the ability to establish strategic direction, develop & flawlessly execute plans and inspire others to deliver desired results.

Primary Responsibilities:

Asset Management
Responsible for planning, developing and directing activities for managing all assets that are owned, leased or subleased by the organization and overseas those who support them in this effort.
  • Develops and maintains overall asset management system for identification, tracking, and control of assets to support audit requirements.
  • Evaluates available asset management software tools to improve asset traceability and maintains ownership history of capital equipment.
  • Partners with corporate and Division management on asset life cycle positioning decisions, and longer term strategic placement & logistics issues.
  • Evaluates asset requests and recommends best solution considering all options, including: refurbishment of existing assets, purchasing high quality previously owned assets, new asset purchase, and leasing or renting options.
  • Effectively manages asset disposal, including agreements and book keeping responsibilities.
  • Influences and participates in the development and maintenance of a variety of statistical reports related to: maintenance, repairs, utilization, depreciation, and financial performance of assets.
  • Oversees the purchasing and build process for new assets from start to finish.
Procurement
Responsible for planning, developing and directing activities for the acquisition of goods and services and overseas those who buy, inspect, and grade durable goods or other merchandise or services to determine value & yield. 
  • Provides leadership in managing product and general procurement to meet plan cost reduction targets and sharing best practices with the operations.
  • Assess existing procurement systems/procedures/philosophies (including measurement methodology) for insight and opportunities for potential improvement; develops a thorough understanding of what the company buys, and from whom they buy it.
  • Ensure all product/material purchases meet defined quality standards and monitors internal customer satisfaction with procurement services.
  • Anticipates key supplier problems that could affect supply.
  • Evaluates international procurement opportunities. Develops and executes procurement strategies that take advantage of global strengths in areas of cost and engineering.
  • Increases customer leverage and buying power through supplier rationalization; creates a more competitive negotiating environment to obtain purchase cost savings.
  • Reviews bid proposals from suppliers and enter into contracts within budgetary limitations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of executive leadership experience in asset management and procurement.
  • BA/BS required and an MBA is a big plus.
  • Track record of effective asset management in terms of ROI and financial performance of assets.
  • Track record of effectively developing and applying procurement metrics, procurement resource management & development and relationship management. 
  • Experience supporting multiple global sites in durable goods manufacturing is required and experience leading a global team is a big plus.
  • Fully grasps and embraces the power of data analytics and readily utilizes data from various sources to support decision making.
  • Possesses compelling financial, numerical and analytical skills.
