Global Executive Vice President of Entertainment Relations

Gibson Brands, Inc. (f/k/a Gibson Guitar Corp), the world’s premier manufacturer of musical instruments and professional & consumer audio equipment, is seeking a Global Executive Vice President of Entertainment Relations (ER). The Global EVP will be located in Nashville and report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. They will be responsible for leading the global ER team including Regional ER Directors, ER Pros, ER Operations professionals and Global Events professionals. The EVP is the visionary thought leader for ER and must possess the ability to establish strategic direction, develop & flawlessly execute plans and inspire others to deliver desired results.

Primary Position Responsibilities:
  • Formulates ER strategies for all brands in close collaboration with the CEO, Corporate Marketing and Public Relations.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for senior leaders in Corporate Marketing, Public Relations, Business Development and Divisions to ensure ER opportunities are in line with overall corporate strategies and business objectives.
  • Leads the development and execution of strategies and tactics to reach potential consumers of Gibson Brands products through raw impressions and impressions with a purpose. Insures multiple media avenues are utilized in order to garner the largest exposure or impressions.
  • Partners with the Corporate Marketing and Public Relations to effectively increase (turbo charge) the number of raw impressions or impressions with a purpose from a deal or opportunity.
  • Develops and implements a systematic process for tracking and reporting on the performance of executed ER strategies and tactics including impacts made within product lines, Divisions or Business Development regions.
  • Effectively develops relationships and negotiates deals with the most popular artists, noted up and coming artists, leaders and others in our more traditional sectors such as the music industry, television, movies, radio, concerts, festivals, etc. that garner the largest exposure or impressions.
  • Effectively develops relationships and negotiates deals with the popular figures, noted up and coming figures, leaders, and others in non-traditional sectors such as sports, sports entertainment, fashion, food, and social media that garner the largest exposure or impressions.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable, ownership mentality environment within the company. Establishes a culture that is driven to win and hates to lose.
  • Effectively communicates goals to their team and the broader organization. Inspires team to meet or exceed the stated goals and effectively deals with under performers and appropriately recognizes those who meet or exceed their goals.
  • Reviews and approves/seeks approval on a variety of submissions from field staff including event proposals, showroom expenses, use of Gibson buses, intellectual property proposals and loaning or gifting of products.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of executive leadership experience in the music, entertainment, fashion or related industries is required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of executive leadership experience combined in Corporate Marketing, Agency Marketing, Corporate Public Relations, or Agency Public Relations is required.
  • Must have experience in leading a large global team.
  • BA/BS required and an MBA is a big plus.
  • Must possess knowledge of all media ratings system, programming, retail environments, sales and marketing functions.
  • Experience with successfully utilizing social media and the internet in creating both raw impressions and impressions with a purpose is highly desired.
  • Experience in and an understanding of endorsement agreements, entertainment contracts and music labels organizational structures is highly desired.
  • Experience in lifestyle marketing and promotion is a big plus.
  • Knowledge of technology based entertainment, media promotions, corporate strategic alliances and consumer marketing a plus.
