Product Manager

Gibson Brands, Inc. (f/k/a Gibson Guitar Corp), the world’s premier manufacturer of musical instruments and professional & consumer audio equipment, is building out its Product Management function in Corporate Marketing and is seeking to hire six (6) Product Managers. The Product Managers will be located in Nashville and report directly to the Executive Vice President of Product Planning. They will have responsibility for managing existing product lines as well as creating and integrating new products and product changes within their specific product line. 

Primary Position Responsibilities:
  • Manages the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • Conducts margin analysis and industry/market research to determine product demand, positioning, viability, and profitability
  • Project manages all product launches and changes throughout implementation
  • Leads the development of new products/product changes and effectively plans for their associated customer and operational impacts
  • Pre-empts potential issues and provides effective solutions to support the new product introductions or product changes
  • Coordinates and builds strong working relations with various internal organizations including; Sales, other Corporate Marketing staff, Product Development, & Operations
  • Develops & conducts training (specialized and general awareness) on new product launches or changes

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful product management experience, preferably aligned to retail luxury/lifestyle products
  • A Bachelor degree in business, marketing, or engineering is required; an MBA is preferred
  • Proven track record of using a high level of critical thinking in cross-functional process analysis and problem resolution for new and existing products
  • Very results oriented and takes ownership of goals and objectives
  • Highly effective collaborator with internal as well as external resources
  • Fully grasps and embraces the power of data analytics and readily utilizes data from various sources to support decision making
