How does the Gibson Foundation select programs to support?

The Gibson Foundation actively seeks out programs that will be a direct mission-fit and further its goals. Organizations may also submit proposals for consideration.

While any organization may submit a Donation Request, priority consideration is given to organizations that are a direct mission fit.

Please note: Due to the impact the May floods had on Gibson USA production, no Gibson electric guitars will be available for donation purposes for the remainder of the year. A limited number of Epiphone models have been designated for these purposes.

How do I request support?

You must complete the appropriate form and submit as directed. Proposals should be attached to a completed Donation Request From. Only written submissions and completed forms will be given consideration. Click here to access form.

How long before my event should I submit a request?

Requests for product donations for an auction or event should be submitted along with the Donation Request Form at least 8 weeks prior to the event. If you are seeking sponsorship support, a formal proposal should be submitted.

How long will it take to get a response?

Donation requests are reviewed on a monthly basis at the close of each month. Notifications of approvals will be emailed to organizations no later than the 2nd week of the following month. No notification is sent to requests that have been declined.

How can I check on the status of my request?

To check on the status, you can email the Gibson Foundation; please provide the name of your organization and date of your original request. You will get a response on status within 24 hours. We do not accept phone calls requesting information on status of donations.

Why would my request be declined?

The Gibson Foundation makes its decisions based on a number of different factors, as it would be impossible to support all causes from which we receive requests. We do not support organizations with religious or political affiliations or that are raising funds for a particular religious group or political party or politician.

While any organization may submit a Donation Request, priority consideration is given to organizations that are a direct mission fit.

If we have received a donation in the past, will it automatically be approved again?

No. There is no guarantee implied by providing support of an organization.

Is there an annual cut-off date for making requests for support?

No. You may request support for your organization at any time throughout the year.
