This is one of those “must have” lessons! Yes, the idea of the “turnaround licks” per se, are rather mundane and predictable to me, but they are certainly important to know, and can be used in countless musical situations and riffs hat don’t necessarily have to occur as the last 2 measures of a Blues!
In this lesson, you’ll see how I use them on various split-string configurations, as well as adjacent strings, and even some really neat and unusual double-string bends that act as a nice and refreshing respite from the usual turnaround recipe!
The main thing I’d love for you to get from these, are some more improvisational ideas, and ways in which we can make the usual turn into the unusual! As guitarists and as musicians in general, this is a great way to build up our vocabularies, and to gain a real sense of better mastery over our instrument. Best of luck, and hope you enjoy this lesson! —Arlen Roth
