Boom Boom
Brandon Trapp, an instructor at MusikWorks Studios and lead guitarist of Austin Roberts An 'Em, gives you a run down the old school blues tunes, “Boom Boom,” by John Lee Hooker.

You may recognize “Boom Boom” from the movie, The Blues Brothers, which featured John and his band playing in a Street Market in Chicago. John wrote the song himself in 1961 during an extended engagement at the Apex Bar in Detroit. Hooker was always late getting to the gig and this bartender, named Willie, kept saying “Boom boom, you late again!” John, after hearing the phrase a few times, thought that the words might make for a good hook.

Hooker was able to boast an impressive career, having recorded over 100 albums, and opening a night club in San Francisco.

Brandon plays a Gibson Custom ES-335 in this lesson.
