Black Sabbath to Tour North America?

02.06.2013

Black SabbathLast month, Black Sabbath confirmed that their new album, 13, will be released in June. Now comes word that fans in North America may get the chance to see the band in live performance soon afterwards. In an interview with Metal Insider, Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler laid out the group’s tour plans for the next several months. “We start at the end of April in New Zealand, and then we go to Australia, then Japan,” he said. “June, we’ll be promoting the album, then July and August [is] U.S.A. Then October is South America, and Europe in November and December.”

Butler was later asked if Rage Against The Machine drummer Brad Wilk, who manned the skins for the new Sabbath album, would be joining the band on tour. “We’re not sure yet,” Butler replied. “We don’t know because I think Brad’s got commitments with Rage Against The Machine. So it’ll probably be either Tommy [Clufetos, Ozzy’s drummer] or Brad, depending on their commitments.”

Butler’s comments regarding Wilk have fueled speculation that perhaps Rage Against the Machine will regroup for a project of some sort later this year.
