Gibson Guitar and Harley-Davidson Motorcycles grew up together in the heartland of America, so it was natural that they teamed up to throw a private bash celebrating the art of ‘customization’ and treating some of their fans to a night of world-class guitars, bikes and rock ‘n’ roll. Fans were able to tour the Beverly Hills Gibson Showroom, try out Gibson and Epiphone guitars and check out two brand new custom Harleys before settling into some fist-pumping fun provided by Epic Records artists, Angels Fall, and Interscope rockers, Rev Theory.

Gibson Guitar and Epiphone have announced a showcase of innovative new products to be displayed at Musikmesse 2011 in Frankfurt, Germany from April 6 – 9, 2011. Gibson’s premier divisions, which include Gibson USA, Gibson Custom, Epiphone, Gibson Acoustic, Gibson Gear, Baldwin and Wurlitzer, will each host dynamic and interactive areas inside the exhibit for attendees to see and experience some of their latest models and products. There will also be special appearances by Gibson and Epiphone signature artists, as well as guitar giveaways and free posters (while supplies last).

The Merc Live at The Gibson Guitar Studio series continued this past week with an ebullient performance by The Heartbreaks. Following a scorching opening set by The Bibelots, the Morecambe, Lancashire, indie rockers ripped through a string of crowd-pleasers, including their newest single, “Jealous, Don’t You Know.” The band also disclosed that they were plotting to release a new album this September.

The Merc Live at The Gibson Guitar Studio series kicked off on March 10 with a ripping performance by The View. The Scottish indie outfit powered through material from their new album, Bread & Circuses, in front of crowd of contest winners, fans and special guests. Highlighting the set were the band’s two latest singles, “Grace” and “Sunday.”

This stunning guitar was the result of countless hours of collaboration between the Rush guitar legend and the Custom Shop’s unrivalled team of luthiers, ultimately creating the perfect guitar for Lifeson’s demanding stage needs. Kate Nash Boards British Music Experience Bus

Last week musician Kate Nash launched an interactive musical educational tour as part of the British Music Experience to inspire young people across the U.K. to engage with music. Nash, who won Best Female Artist at the 2008 Brit Awards, will tour the country in a 1968 Routemaster London bus, which has been transformed to replicate the London-based music museum.
