Lee Ving, the legendary front man of ‘70s California punk outfit Fear, joined Dave Grohl and his Sound City Players at their SXSW gig at Stubb’s in Austin.


One of Austin’s most iconic venues, Threadgill’s World Headquarters, played host to New West Records and Gibson on Thursday, March 14, as Gibson Acoustic division launched three new core acoustic models; the SJ100, LG2, and J35.
Fans lined up throughout the day in downtown Austin for the chance to win one of the gorgeous acoustics that were given away. USA Today sat down with New West’s banner artists for interviews, shining a light on the work of John Hiatt, Buddy Miller, Jim Lauderdale, Richard Thompson and Max Gomez.

Mexican rock band Molotov not only screened their rockumentary, Gimme the Power but the four-time Latin Grammy Nominees also played a rousing gig for SXSW’s music fans.

For the second year in a row, Gibson hosted the Slacker Radio Sessions for a fiesta of diverse live recordings from a mix of respected music veterans and talented up-and-comers. Slacker Radio is the second-largest Internet radio station in North America, with 35 million registered users and over 700,000 Facebook followers.
