The Gibson tour bus rolled into Hyland’s Park in Chelmsford over the weekend of 20th & 21st August for the 2011 V Festival. The Gibson Tour Bus, one of four in the world was parked exclusively in the backstage artist area. Over the weekend, artists had the opportunity to test out the highly anticipated Gibson Firebird X guitar system with a Gibson product specialist. Kids in Glass Houses Perform “Not in This World”
Over the course of the V Festival weekend, artists such as Imelda May, Kids in Glass Houses, Fritz & The Tantrums, Hanson, You Me At Six, Labrinth, Lostprophets’ guitarist Lee Gaze, Martin Anderson and Fazer from N- Dubz, Ocean Colour Scene’s Steve Cradock, Big Country’s Mike Peters, Professor Green guitarist Lewis Taylor and Tinie Tempah guitarist Ryan Haberfield dropped by the Gibson Tour Bus.
The Gibson Tour Bus was a hive of activity in the backstage area, with many artists eager to test out the new Gibson Firebird X guitar system or simply coming onboard to perform an acoustic track exclusively for Gibson.com. Other videos feature artists like The Script’s Mark Sheehan teach Gibson.com viewers how to play one of his bands famous guitar riffs. Gibson dealer Guitar Village was also on board showcasing a selection of new Gibson USA, Gibson Custom and Epiphone models.

This year’s V Festival was headlined by U.S. rapper Marshal Mathers otherwise known as Eminem who gave the 70,000 strong audience a powerful performance of songs from a career that spans over a decade. A highlight from Eminem’s show included a duet with Rihanna for their hit “Love the Way You Lie.” Also topping the bill were Sheffield’s Arctic Monkeys that saw the band perform tracks from their new studio album Suck it and See as well as their many stadium-filling hits. Other bands to take to the main stage at the V Festival in both the Chelmsford and Staffordshire sites included Rihanna, Jessie J, Lostprophets, Manic Street Preachers, Plan B, Ellie Goulding, Primal Scream, Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, K.T. Tunstall, The Script, Good Charlotte and You Me at Six.
