Gibson Guitar fan Tom Srsich had a night to remember on Thursday June 9 when he and a friend found themselves in New York’s Iridium Jazz Club to watch the second of two intimate performances by Jeff Beck. Srsich won the tickets to the second evening’s invitation-only performance, billed “A Celebration of Les Paul,” through a recent Twitter contest at Gibson’s Twitter page, http://www.Twitter.com/GibsonLifestyle.
Beck was joined onstage by Irish sensation, Imelda May, as well as Brian Setzer and Gary “U.S.” Bonds. The crowd was a veritable who’s-who of celebrities and luminaries from the music business and beyond, including David Bowie, Stephen Colbert, John McEnroe, Steve Miller, Chris Noth, Meat Loaf, Kirk Hammett, Duff McKagan, Zakk Wylde, Warren Haynes, Ace Frehley and Gibson Guitar Chairman and C.E.O. Henry Juszkiewicz.
“I cannot even put into words how great the show was,” contest winner Srsich said. “I want to thank everyone at Gibson Guitar for one of the greatest nights I have ever had. It was a whirlwind 36 hours in Manhattan, and I got my chance to be a rock star for a night. Pretty cool for an average guitar-playing working stiff!”
