City Showcase: Spotlight London 2011—London’s new music festival—has announced its industry workshop program and inaugural student music week event in association with the University of Westminster under the banner “Finding the Future.”
The festival runs from May 3-7. The “Finding the Future” events run from May 9-11, with student bands performing in Cargo, Shoreditch all three days and music industry experts and speakers lining up in the famous Gibson Guitar Studio on May 9-10 to give advice to those breaking into the industry.
Highlights of the workshop program include a presentation by Marc Marot, CEO of SEG Entertainment Ltd, representatives of the Musician’s Union and TopSpin Media’s Ian Rogers. Songwriter-producer Bill Padley and legendary Squeeze songwriter Chris Difford will be on hand to critique attendees’ work.
