Robby Krieger, known to the world as the lead guitarist and songwriter of the legendary band The Doors, will perform at New York’s Iridium Jazz Club for a limited, special engagement Thursday, October 22 through Monday, October 25, 2010. The highlight of the residency will be a special tribute to the late, great Les Paul as part of the club’s Les Paul Monday Night Artist Series program.
Krieger wrote some of the best known songs of all time including “Light My Fire,” “Love Me Two Times,” “Touch Me” and “Love Her Madly,” among other Doors classics. Les Paul, the grandfather of the electric guitar, performed at the Iridium, in New York’s Times Square, for more than 12 years and presented The Les Paul Trio with special guest guitarists in a diverse array of genres . Special guests such as Jeff Beck, Zakk Wylde, Steve Miller, Al Di Meola, Larry Carlton and Steve Morse have honored the music legend.
Krieger will carry on the tradition during Monday’s show. He also will be dedicating a very special guitar to the Les Paul permanent installation now available for fans to experience at the Iridium Jazz Club. Throughout the four-day engagement, Krieger will introduce the Robby Krieger Fusion Band to audiences and fans.
