Last week San Francisco's hipsters came out to pay tribute to Joel Selvin, famous Senior Pop Critic for the San Francisco Chronicle and a Rolling Stone contributing writer. Joel announced his retirement and the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco (a Gibson club) threw him a party. Joel has been an important part of the famous San Francisco scene for more than 30 years and wrote the forward to Jim Marshall: Proof, still one of the coolest rock photographer hard covers out there. The SG in the picture was presented to Joel and later signed by many of these legends.
