Big Star Albums Remastered for Fall Release

The first two albums by legendary ‘70s power pop band Big Star are set to be reissued this fall, on September 2. Long out of print as individual CDs in the U.S., 1972’s #1 Record and 1974’s Radio City will be remastered from original analog tape sources, and released by Stax Records.

The Led Zeppelin reissue campaign that began in June will continue this fall with the release of Deluxe Editions of 1971’s Led Zeppelin IV and 1973’s Houses of the Holy. As with the previous reissues, both albums have been newly remastered by Jimmy Page and are accompanied by companion discs comprised of unreleased music associated with the original studio album.

After playing live with his old band Exodus last week, Kirk Hammett has announced that he will be appearing as a special guest on the track "Salt in the Wound" from band's upcoming album Blood In, Blood Out. Hammett played with the trash metal band between 1980 and 1983 before joining Metallica.
