Rod Stewart’s New Album May Be His “His Most Topical Yet”

In contrast to at least one early report, which indicated Rod Stewart had recorded a country album, his forthcoming record, Another Country, will instead apparently be an eclectic set that includes Celtic melodies, reggae and ska. In addition, the album might well end up being one of the most topical of Stewart’s career.

Ian Curtis’s House to Become Joy Division Museum

The former home of late Joy Division singer Ian Curtis will converted into a museum honoring the classic band, reports London’s The Guardian. Joy Division fan and entrepreneur Hadar Goldman purchased the house after fans failed in an attempt to buy the property in order to prevent developers from taking it. “Although I paid nearly double the asking price, I felt as if I had to get involved, especially after hearing the plight of fans who had failed to raise the necessary funds to buy the house owned and lived in by one of the musical heroes of my youth,” Goldman said.

B.B. King Public Viewings Announced, Funeral Scheduled in Mississippi

The funeral for blues great B.B. King will take place 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, at Bell Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Indianola, Mississippi, located near the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center. Two public viewings have been scheduled prior to the burial. The first will take place in Las Vegas, where King passed away, this Friday (May 22) from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Palm Mortuary West. The second will take place one week later (Friday, May 29) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the B.B. King Museum in Indianola.

Paul McCartney Has New Songs Ready for Animated Film

Paul McCartney has written seven or eight songs for an upcoming animated film based on High in the Clouds, a children’s story the former Beatle co-wrote in 2005. As reported by Deadline.com, Sir Paul will also provide the voice for one of the film’s main characters. One of the songs he’s written is said to be a rollicking tune sung by Lady Gaga.

As reported by Classic Rock, Ulrich shared his thoughts about the new Kurt Cobain film documentary, Montage of Heck, in a recent interview broadcast on Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx. “I thought it was unique,” the drummer said. “Never quite seen a film like that. I loved being that close to Kurt, but I also had issues being that close to him, because it took a little bit of the mystique away.”
