Guitarist and songwriter John Spinks, who helped power the British trio The Outfield to the top of the charts in the late ‘80s, died Wednesday (July 9) from liver cancer. He was 60. Best known for their debut 1986 smash, “Your Love,” The Outfield scored eight Hot 100 hits in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s.

Headbanging at Motörhead Concert Caused Man’s Brain to Bleed

German medical journal The Lancet has reported that a 50-year-old man who developed a “chronic subdural haematoma” – which means bleeding in the brain – did so after doing some intense headbanging at a Motörhead concert. The Lancet report defines headbanging as, “a contemporary dance form consisting of abrupt flexion—extension movements of the head to the rhythm of rock music, most commonly seen in the heavy metal genre.”

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson says the band is entertaining the idea of opening an interactive museum. Speaking with the Daily Star newspaper, Dickinson said, “We've got loads of gear kicking around. I don’t want it to end up in some po-faced museum, with people in white suits saying, 'Don't touch this.'"

Last week when the Rolling Stones visited Sweden for a stop on their 14 On Fire tour, Mick Jagger visited the ABBA museum in Stockholm. Jagger reportedly spent about 45 minutes being treated to a personal tour of the museum, which includes memorabilia like old stage costumes, and photographs. Jagger also got to take a look at the museum's “stage” where visitors can participate in ABBA karaoke together with holograms of the band.
