Robert Plant Refutes Led Zeppelin Reunion Claim

Recent reports that Robert Plant rejected a huge financial offer to participate in a Led Zeppelin reunion are untrue, says the singer. Apparently originating with London’s Mirror, the story asserted that Richard Branson had offered to bankroll a series of concerts, and pay the band $800 million. The story further claimed that Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham were on-board for the reunion, with Plant the lone holdout.

Metal music pioneer Ozzy Osbourne picked up the Global Icon Award at the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards earlier this week at the SSE Hydro arena in Glasgow, Scotland. The biggest band from the night, however, came when Slash not only presented the award to the Black Sabbath frontman, but also performed Ozzy’s 1980 classic “Crazy Train” with his full band, Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators, and Biffy Clyro’s Simon Neil.

AC/DC have seen plenty of drama lately, thanks to their longtime drummer Phil Rudd being arrested and charged with threatening to kill, possession of cannabis, possession of methamphetamine and murder-for-hire, the latter charge which was ultimately dropped. But, the guys are forging forward and promise the Rudd situation won’t get in the way of their plans to release a new album, Rock or Bust, next month.
