Joe Perry Says New Slash Album Is “Really Rockin'”

Aerosmith's Joe Perry has had a tough week, with the band having to cancel shows in Turkey and Ukraine. The latter was due to security concerns due to civil unrest in the country. Perry said that show is the first one Aerosmith have ever had to cancel “because of politics”.

Jeff Beck Cancels Second Leg of European Tour

Jeff Beck, who turned 70 on June 24, has been instructed by doctors to stop performing for six weeks. He also will “undertake a short hospital procedure.” As a result, the second leg of his European tour has been cancelled.

In an effort to help fans all over the world witness first-hand the latest and greatest of its culture, vision and values, Gibson Brands launch the “Gibson Experience” program for the first time ever in Chile’s capital city, Santiago. This 2-day event took place at a fully packed venue—the legendary Alameda Theater in Santiago—and attracted a total audience of 500—250 people each day. Among the special guest, rock band Lucybell, and other local favorites: Mauricio Alvarado Trio, Edu Machado Trio, Kiuge Hayashida and Kilterry. Also the fans had the chance to participate on guitar giveaways and other Gibson goods.

During the interview the guitarist reveals that the first time he came in to contact with a guitar was at age fourteen through his friend and subsequent Guns N’ Roses bandmate Steven Adler, who had an electric guitar.
