AC/DC are pretty much unrecognizable without guitarist Malcolm Young and his brother Angus, but after more than 40 years playing in the legendary rock band, Malcolm has taken some time off due to health problems. When it comes to whether Malcolm will return to AC/DC, Jesse Fink, author of the new biography “The Youngs: The Brothers Who Build AC/DC,” says he’s “not expecting to see Malcolm return.”

A ban on steel string guitars in prison cells in England and Wales has been lifted, thanks largely to the efforts of musician Billy Bragg. In 2007, Bragg founded Jail Guitar Doors, a project that since then has provided approximately 350 guitars to prisoner inmates.

The first two albums by legendary ‘70s power pop band Big Star are set to be reissued this fall, on September 2. Long out of print as individual CDs in the U.S., 1972’s #1 Record and 1974’s Radio City will be remastered from original analog tape sources, and released by Stax Records.

The Led Zeppelin reissue campaign that began in June will continue this fall with the release of Deluxe Editions of 1971’s Led Zeppelin IV and 1973’s Houses of the Holy. As with the previous reissues, both albums have been newly remastered by Jimmy Page and are accompanied by companion discs comprised of unreleased music associated with the original studio album.
