Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page will publish an updated official visual autobiography in October 2014.
The book, simply called Jimmy Page, will feature more than 600 photos from the guitarist’s archive, as well as the story of Led Zeppelin’s rise, all in Page's own words. The book was released as a limited edition of only 2,500 copies in 2010 and was priced at £445. The new edition will be more widely available — and certainly more affordable.
Page has told Guitar World, “I’ve been asked on a number of occasions to do a written book and I thought of the other side of the coin. I thought it would be unique to have an autobiography in photographs, charting my whole musical journey.”
Also, Guitar Center are auctioning two of Gibson’s replica Jimmy Page #2 Les Pauls for charity on EBay. These are two of the 25 of these aged and signed guitars released worldwide. All 25 of them were individually played, signed and numbered by Page, and handmade by Gibson Custom. The minimum bid is $20,000 for each guitar. The auction starts on June 19.
