Opera in the Way of Zeppelin Reunion
Earlier in the year Robert Plant hinted that he was open to a Led Zeppelin reunion next year, saying in an interview with 60 Minutes in Australia "I've got nothing to do in 2014."
Plant has previously been the one of the surviving members of the band to say no to reunion offers. Now that Plant is finally open to some touring with his old band mates, another member's prior engagement puts any such plans on hold.
Bassist John Paul Jones told Red Carpet TV News: "2014 is full of opera for me at the moment." Jones is working on an opera based on the play Spöksonaten (The Ghost Sonata), by Swedish author August Strindberg. With such a huge project at his feet, Jones can't commit to the gruesome workload a Led Zeppelin tour would necessitate. For now, fans will have to make to with last year's Led Zeppelin DVD release Celebration Day, which captures the band's reunion show at London's O2 Arena in December 2007.
