RATT, Dokken Survive Plane Scare
The private plane both bands were flying in was forced to land after smoke was detected in the cabin.
Chuck Brennan, who chartered the flight and is a friend of the bands, told The Associated Press that the Challenger 601 launched from the Moline airport in northwestern Illinois but pilots had to turn around and head back to the airport when smoke appeared in the front of the plane at about 7,000 feet.
Brennan, a former promoter who chartered the plane out of Santa Ana, Calif., for a four-city tour, said the two bands took SUVs to the Wauconda venue, about 170 miles from Moline. They made the show in time and were rokken' like Dokken alongside tour mates Lita Ford, Sebastian Bach and Warrant.
