Sevendust are out on the road this summer in support of their 2013 release, Black Out the Sun, and the band is already fleshing out plans for next year.
I caught up with guitarist John Connolly during a recent tour stop in Michigan, and he dropped the news that Sevendust are planning to record an acoustic EP in early 2014, following their acoustic stint on ShipRocked 2014.
“There’s a lot of talk, a lot of buzz going around about another acoustic tour,” Connolly said. “We’ve always wanted to do one, but we really don’t want to do it without a record, so we may be hopping in at some point to do some kind of an acoustic EP.”
He added, “Ideally, it would be nice if we could get it wrapped up before the end of the year, but I think realistically, it might be January, February, March, somewhere around there that we’ll hop in for a few weeks. Probably revisit some older songs and then do a handful of newer songs that we can do on the acoustic thing. So that’s kind of off a little ways, but it’s definitely something we want to focus on.
