Rock the House

Strangest gig of the week? Slash has played at London’s Houses of Parliament, the home of the U.K. government.

It was all-acoustic, but Slash and Myles Kennedy played the Terrace Pavilion in the Houses of Parliament to an audience of music industry execs, politicians, celebrities and some lucky fans of Slash and Myles. After the gig, Mike Weatherley MP took the rockers on an exclusive tour of the Houses of Parliament.

The event was part of Rock the House, a competition that was founded by Weatherley to champion creative industries and promote artists' Intellectual Property Rights.

The event was also the launch of Slash and Myles Kennedy's new album, World on Fire, which comes out in September 2014.

Weatherley, MP, said: “It was a privilege to welcome such rock icons to Parliament and I am grateful for Slash and Myles' support for my Rock the House competition. The gig was absolutely fantastic and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of the launch of Slash's new album, World on Fire. It was an honour to be in the first ever audience to hear their new record played live, along with the classics such as “Sweet Child O' Mine”, which certainly got the audience in fine spirits.”
