Ben Taylor, son of folk great James Taylor and pop singer Carly Simon, recently released his latest album, Listening, and is set to take the 11-song set on a lengthy fall tour that will take him through 40 cities the states.
Taylor, whose go-to guitar is a Gibson J-45 original, chatted with me about his new album and what it was like growing up the son of James Taylor.
Last year, Ben went on tour with his father for the first time, and he says it was a “completely amazing” experience.
“As an adult, you don’t get to spend the day after day time with parents you did as a kid, so to get on an everyday level with him was special for me,” he said. “I grew up playing his songs, and idolizing him and hoping at some point to get the nod from him, so it was one of the most validating experiences I’ve ever had.”
Check back next week for Gibson.com’s full interview with Ben.
