Bowie's Ziggy Stardust 'K. West' Sign on Display
The iconic Heddon Street K. West sign featured on the cover of David Bowie's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars album cover will be displayed publicly for the first time in 30 years in November.
The sign forms part of a major exhibition of vintage posters and memorabilia from David Bowie’s golden years (1969-1981) including on display for the first time in 30 years the original Heddon Street K. West sign.
The sign itself was rescued by a music industry veteran and finally restored.
This is it, the very sign captured in the cover's famous Brian Ward photograph. Countless fans have recreated Bowie's pose in the original location but without the real-deal sign.
The exhibition will place at The Movie Poster Art Gallery in London from Saturday November 17 until Saturday December 1. Admission is free. So those with a travelling spirit might want to go on a kwest to view it.
