Dave Grohl is set to host a limited run show on SiriusXM that features music recorded at Los Angeles’s legendary Sound City Studios. The premiere episode airs today (Nov. 29) at 4 p.m. EST on SiriusXM’s Classic Vinyl station.
As reported by Rolling Stone, each episode will be devoted to a specific time period for music made at Sound City. The last episode, airing January 24, will include a discussion about the making of Grohl’s forthcoming documentary film about the studio.
Today’s episode covers 1970-1975, and will include music from Neil Young, Elton John and Fleetwood Mac, among others. "I'm so proud of the Sound City film and beyond excited for the world to see what I've been working on for the past year," Grohl said, in a prepared statement. "Even before that, though, I'm grateful to SiriusXM for giving me the opportunity to share all this great music and to let people know what got me excited about Sound City in the first place."
