Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale Says Pat Benatar is Her ‘Favorite Role Model’
What’s not to love about a chick in a rock band? If you ask Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale, heading up a hard rock outfit is great, but it’s not always easy.
“I think a lot of people don’t realize the guts it takes to be a woman in rock...” Hale told Rock Source 360. “We have to carve out our own path and make our own rules, because there are none. We have to go against everything society has told us we should be, embrace our power.... AND still hold on to our femininity somehow!”
So, what female rocker does Hale look up to in the business? “By far my favorite role model is Pat Benatar,” she said. Nice!
Hale is a loyal Gibson player, and she recently stopped by the Gibson USA factory in Nashville, Tennessee, to pick up her very own Lzzy Hale Signature Explorer.
“It’s my first time at Gibson USA, it’s just incredible,” she said. “I’m totally amazed for seeing how many people work on just one guitar. Next time that I’m going to be on the stage, definitely I can appreciate how much work and effort are involved in each and every instrument.”
