Pioneering electronic band Kraftwerk will perform each of their eight studio albums in-full during an eight-night residency in London next February.
As reported by NME.com, the iconic German group will stage the series of shows at the Tate Modern art gallery in London from February 6 through February 14. The gigs, dubbed “1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8,” will adhere to the same format Kraftwerk employed during their run of shows at New York’s Museum of Art this past April.
The band previously announced they will stage similar full-album performances in their hometown of Dusseldorf in January 2013. Speaking about the forthcoming London shows, Tate Modern director Chris Dercon said, "As a former power station, Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall is an ideal venue for Kraftwerk’s explorations of technology, energy and rhythm. Bringing together music, video and performance, these events will be true gesamtkunstwerk – a total work of art."
