Liam Gallagher’s band Beady Eye included Oasis songs in their set for the first time during last week’s (June 28) show in Warrington, north England.
Liam has previously criticized his brother, Noel, for playing Oasis songs during his “solo” shows with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. But Noel Gallagher, to be fair, did originally write 99% of Oasis songs.
Beady Eye, the band that comprise the most recent members of Oasis apart from Noel, played the Noel-written “Rock 'N' Roll Star” and “Morning Glory.” They also unveiled a brand new Liam-penned track called “The World’s Not Set in Stone.”
Beady Eye did not play their last two singles “Millionaire” and “The Beat Goes On.” The Beady Eye show was a warm-up for their support of The Stone Roses, who play Manchester’s Heaton Park this weekend. The Stone Roses were a huge influence on Oasis, and this will be the Roses’ first major show with the original lineup for two decades.
