Steve Lukather will release his new solo album Transition on Monday January 21, 2013.
Luke's previous two albums, Ever Changing Times and All's Well That Ends Well, are both incredibly diverse yet somehow unified-feeling releases that draw from his extensive session history.
Transition seems to be more of the same - in a good way - with Lukather working with CJ Vanstone on the album.
"Transition is a turning point for the album and a turning point for me," Lukather explains. "As we were writing the songs, I was thinking about everything I've seen — all the people I've lost in my life, the great and the difficult experiences I've had, and how ultimately it was time to get it together and embrace things for what they are. We've only got one life to live so we should make the most of it."
Luke has definitely been making the most of it lately, playing occasional shows with Toto as well as Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band and his own shows, including a couple of tours of duty with Joe Satriani's G3 over the course of 2012. Next up for Luke is an Australian Ringo Starr tour.
He'll also undertake an extensive tour of Europe including two U.K. concerts, at London's Islington 02 Academy on March 29 and Bilston's Robin 2 on March 30.
