The Rolling Stones have unveiled their first-ever iPhone app. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the free app allows users to watch interviews, try and win tour tickets, and see photos and videos of the band across the decades. For a fee, fans can also unlock exclusive content shot specifically for the app. A feature will soon be added that allows fans to vote for songs they wish to see performed in concert. “We wanted to do something a bit special and innovative,” said Mick Jagger, “an app that really connects with the user, lots of exclusive content, integration with social networks and the ability to make a song request for the upcoming shows."
Referencing the Stones 50th anniversary, Keith Richards added: “There'll be quite a few surprises in there for the fans; some behind the scenes footage; some old, some new stuff that very few people get to see. It's all part of a rather splendid celebration for us.”
