Thirty-five years ago in October, punk legends The Sex Pistols burst on the music scene with Never Mind the B*******.
To commemorate that momentous release, Universal will release a limited edition box set featuring a remastered version of the original album, reports The Sun.
Guitarist Steve Jones, and his iconic Les Paul, changed the face of music in the ‘70s but there wasn’t too much of an intent to be revolutionaries, he recalls to the newspaper.
“It’s one of those albums made out of pure naivety. There was no agenda going on when we were recording it. It was just 12 songs of us just doing what we knew best.
We had no idea how significant it would become.
“To me, ‘Never Mind The B*******’ was just a straight-ahead rock ‘n’ roll album. The word ‘punk’ wasn’t something we came up with.”
But Jones is very impressed with the remastered CD. “It’s a lot clearer and better than the original,” he said. “This is the first time in 35 years that it’s actually been remastered from the masters.
