Australia’s finance minister claims that Bruce Springsteen is not just a rock star but also something of an economist.
Wayne Swan, the Guardian newspaper reports, said in a lecture: “You can hear Springsteen singing about the shifting foundations of the U.S. economy which the economists took much longer to detect, and which of course everyone is talking about now.”
Swan’s main rival – opposition treasury spokesman Joe Hockey – not surprisingly did not agree, calling Swan’s comments “ridiculous.”
