Fleetwood Mac

ZZ Top’s Billy F. Gibbons features among the artists to to take part in a new tribute to Fleetwood Mac. The U.K. blues pioneers, then led by Peter Green, were an early guitar influence on Gibbons, as well as on Aerosmith’s Joe Perry. Fleetwood Mac later became pop/rock stars with Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks as frontpeople.

Gibbons is returning a favor – drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVie appeared on a ZZ Top tribute earlier this year. Sonic Youth’s Lee Ranaldo and Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis also duet on the album.

The as-yet-untitled album will be released in the U.S. on September 14.
