Upgraded, Limited True Vintage Hummingbird
True Vintage and Modern Classic
Forefront and Center
Crafted with solid-mahogany back and sides, solid-Sitka spruce top, and one-piece mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard, the Hummingbird Pro packs premier tonewoods that mirror those of its predecessor from 1960. A scalloped advanced X-brace, hide-glued dovetail neck joint, and bone nut keep it all ringing, rich and resonant, while an L.R. Baggs Element acoustic pickup with endpin jack on the Hummingbird Pro and active Fishman Prefix Plus-T pickup system on the Hummingbird Pro EC (which also sports a cutaway body) take it all to a bigger audience when you need to plug in and be heard.
Meanwhile, a vintage-sunburst finish in hand-sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer, marquetry back stripe, multi-ply top binding and rosette, split-parallelogram inlays, and double-point tortoiseshell pickguard keep it all looking as sweet and sultry as the vintage Hummingbird that inspired it. All guitars come with a blue-plush-lined Gibson hardshell case, owner’s manual, and Gibson Gold Warranty.
Body and Finish
This big-bodied, square-shouldered dreadnought is built from the classic tonewood combination of Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides—all solid woods—with a tonally advantageous advanced X-brace made of scalloped spruce braces supporting the top. All this, and a hand-sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer finish in vintage sunburst, help the Hummingbird Pro echo the great Gibson flat-tops of 50 years ago.

Neck and Headstock
The guitar’s neck and headstock are made in the classic tradition of the original 1960 Hummingbird Pro, with the 25 1/2” scale length that many players prefer in a large-bodied flat-top. Carved from a single piece of quarter-sawn mahogany, and topped with a rosewood fingerboard, the design incorporates Gibson’s lauded 17-degree back-angled headstock, which contributes greatly to the instrument’s resonance and sustain.

Hardware
The Hummingbird Pro carries the classic hardware accompaniment seen of several legendary Gibson flat-tops. A “belly-up” Indian rosewood bridge and bone saddle keep it all tonally true at the business end, while Grover Rotomatic tuners—a common upgrade of the ’60s—combine a timeless look with outstanding tuning efficiency.
