Tonal Characteristics
The glued-in mahogany neck contributes added depth, complexity and sustain to the guitar.
Joint
Epiphone uses what is known as the Mortis & Tenon joint to bind neck to body so that the two pieces form one solid unit. This glued-in neck joint, placed accurately at the 16th fret on this model (rather than the 17th, as on some other reproductions) has been recognized by luthiers for centuries as a superior method for attaching guitar necks and bodies.
Headstock Shape and Angle
The "Inspired by" John Lennon Casino headstock is carved to a shape recognizable on countless classic Epiphone guitars over the course of more the past century. It gently back angled to produce optimum string pressure in the fret slots.
Truss Rod
Epiphone's traditional truss rod, found in most all of our guitars, is highly responsive to the individual adjustments you'll want to make to personalize and optimize string action and sustain.
Logo
A pearloid Epiphone logo is inlaid across the top of the headstock face of the "Inspired by" John Lennon Casino.
Fingerboard and Nut
Fingerboard Species
The "Inspired by" John Lennon Casino carries a rosewood fingerboard, the traditional fingerboard of countless classic archtop electrics. Rosewood is both hardwearing and sonically superlative, adding sweetness and depth to the guitar's overall sound.
Frets
The "Inspired by" John Lennon Casino sports 22 medium-jumbo frets, all immaculately dressed and polished.
Tonal Characteristics
Rosewood fingerboards are known for their rich, round tone.
Inlays
The "Inspired by" John Lennon Casino fingerboard carries acrylic trapezoid position-marker inlays, echoing the look of vintage Epiphone Casinos.
Nut Width
The width of the nut on the "Inspired by" John Lennon Casino is approximately 1 11/16", the traditional nut width of Epiphone archtop electric guitars.
Radius
The 12" radius of the "Inspired by" John Lennon Casino fingerboard provides smooth note bending capabilities and eliminates "dead" or "choked out" notes, common occurrences on fingerboards with lesser radiuses. This flatter yet extremely comfortable radius had been most requested by rock and blues players for more than 50 years.
