Neck and Headstock

Neck Species
The neck of the “Annihilation-V” is constructed from solid mahogany. This wood is not only one of the strongest used for guitar necks, but also provides exemplary cut and definition to the instrument’s tone. Neck Species
Tonal Characteristics
The glued-in mahogany neck contributes added depth and complexity to the overall voice of the instrument.
Neck Profile
The neck on the “Annihilation-V” is carved to a SlimTaper “D” profile, as per Jeff Waters’s specifications. Neck Profile
Epiphone uses what is known as the Mortis & Tenon joint to bind neck to body so that the two pieces form one solid unit. The solid mahogany neck is hand-fitted into the body and glued in place for optimum tone and sustain.
Headstock Shape and Angle
The “Annihilation-V”’s headstock is carved to a classic pointed “V” shape.
Truss Rod
Epiphone’s traditional truss rod, found in most of our guitars, is highly responsive to the individual adjustments you’ll want to make to personalize and optimize string action and sustain. Truss Rod

Fingerboard and Nut

Fingerboard Species
The “Annihilation-V” carries a modern phenolic fingerboard, a component that is extremely hard, smooth and durable.
The “Annihilation-V” sports 24 medium-jumbo frets, all easily accessible thanks to the deep-set “Flying V” neck joint. Frets
Tonal Characteristics
Phenolic fingerboards are not only hard wearing and smooth to the touch, but are known for contributing clarity and “snap” to the overall tonal formula.
The 14" radius of the “Annihilation-V” fingerboard provides smooth note-bending capabilities and eliminates “dead” or “choked-out” notes, common occurrences on fingerboards with lesser radiuses.
The “Annihilation-V” fingerboard carries red (Annihilation Red gloss) or silver (Pitch Black satin) fingerboard inlays, with an “Annihilation Devil” graphic at the 12th fret. Inlays
Nut Width
A 1.68"-wide nut gives the “Annihilation-V” all the room that shredders demand. Nut Width
