Pickups
Pickups Model
The “Annihilation-V” carries an over-wound JWT ceramic-8 pickup in the bridge position and a sweet JWR Alnico-II pickup in the neck. These metal-certified humbuckers have been designed specifically for Jeff Waters by Epiphone engineers and manufactured in Gibson USA’s world-famous pickups division.
Together, they provide the power to wail and shred when needed, with a sweeter, more sultry voice always available at the flick of a switch. Furthermore, a push-pull switch in the single Volume control provides noise-free single-coil tones for increased sonic versatility.
Tonal Characteristics
The hot JWT ceramic bridge pickup provides the right combination of crunch and growl without ever losing its enhanced lows and crystal clear highs, while the JWR neck pickup features an Alnico-II magnet that provides vintage tone with great sustain and clarity along with the right combination of power and warmth. Together, the two pickups offer the perfect combination of crunch and clean.
