A Powerful Les Paul, from one of Rock's Most Powerful Personalities

In the tradition of the greatest Les Paul Standards, the Slash "Appetite" Les Paul starts with great tonewoods. The body is made from solid and resonant mahogany, and is capped with a carved hard maple top. This legendary pairing works together to create a "best of both worlds" tonal response, with plenty of warmth and depth from the mahogany, and great snap, cut and sparkle from the maple. Its solid mahogany neck with "deep-set" neck joint that extends well into the neck pickup cavity further contributes to the sustain and resonance of the instrument: carved to a rounded "Slash-D" profile, it is both extremely comfortable to play, and thick enough to enhance the transfer of string vibration from headstock to body, making for one singing, sustaining guitar.

Cranking all this tonal splendor to your amp of choice are a pair of Seymour Duncan™ Slash Signature Alnico Pro II humbucking pickups with "zebra" coils. Made in the image of original Gibson PAF humbuckers, with 42-gauge wire and Alnico II magnets, these Signature model pickups are wound with a few extra turns to provide the wailing sustain and rude crunch that define Slash's signature tone. Just like the original Les Paul Standards, the Slash Appetite Les Paul uses an independent Volume and Tone control for each pickup. To further capture Slash's signature tone, the guitar caries a quality 500k linear-taper potentiometer for each volume control, and a 500k non-linear taper potentiometer for each tone control, with .022mF Orange Drop capacitors on the tone pots for a smooth, natural treble roll-off. Sustain is further enhanced by Epiphone's rock-solid LockTone™ Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece combo, each of which locks into place for increased resonance and ease of string changing without any dropped hardware.

And with all the tonal elements in place, the Slash "Appetite" Les Paul really goes for its guns in the looks department. The guitar's top is dressed in a AAA-flame maple veneer and finished in a custom Slash amber to replicate the look of Slash's beloved faded Les Paul. The headstock face is dressed in a custom Slash graphic and signature, silkscreened in gold. Body top and rosewood fingerboard are trimmed in aged cream binding, amber knobs adorn the independent volume and tone controls, and the headstock is equipped with a set of vintage style tuners with "tulip" buttons. Your guitar comes protected in a custom Slash hardshell case and includes a certificate of authenticity hand-signed by Slash himself in a leatherette binder with a picture of Slash with the guitar. Also included are 12 "Slash" picks.

Body and Finish
The body of each Slash "Appetite" Les Paul is crafted from solid mahogany with a carved hard maple top, and capped with a AAA-flame maple veneer. To further reflect the look of Slash's original Les Paul Standard, each instrument is finished in custom "Appetite Amber," producing the look of a beautifully faded "unburst" style Les Paul.

Like the great Les Paul Standards, the Slash "Appetite" Les Paul pairs a solid mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and a back-angled headstock. These features – in addition to the added mass of the chunky D neck and the deep-set long neck tenon – all increase the guitar's warmth, resonance and sustain, as well as making it a superbly playable instrument.

Pickups and Electronics
Packing tone to the max, the Slash "Appetite" Les Paul carries a pair of Slash Signature Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II humbucking pickups with "zebra coils." Made in the image of original Gibson PAF humbuckers with Alnico II magnets, but loaded with a few extra turns of wire for improved sustain and crunch, they are routed through the traditional four-knob control array with three-way selector switch. To further capture Slash's signature tone, the "Appetite" Les Paul features a quality 500k linear-taper potentiometer for each volume control, and a 500k non-linear taper potentiometer for each tone control, with .022mF Orange Drop capacitors on the tone pots for a smooth, natural treble roll-off.
