Tuning Keys
The headstock of the Custom Shop 50th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Customs is equipped with gold-plated kidney button Grover Rotomatic tuners, considered a major upgrade on guitars of the ’50s and ’60s. These tuners provide a classic look in line with the model’s lineage, and smooth, robust performance, with an efficient 12:1 turn ratio. Tuning Keys
Trussrod Cover
The truss rod cover on the Custom Shop 50th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Custom follows the period-correct “antique bell” shape of the originals, is made from black and white vinyl plastic, and is engraved with the legend “Les Paul Custom”. Trussrod Cover
Strap Buttons
The guitar’s strap buttons are made from brass, just like those of the original 1960 Les Paul Custom. Strap Buttons
Control Knobs
Version 1 and Version 2 of the Custom Shop 50th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Custom carry the black top-hat knobs with gold inserts. Control Knobs
Bridge
In the image of its predecessor, the Custom Shop 50th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Custom carries a Tune-o-matic (ABR-1 no wire) bridge that is made from zinc and plated in gold. This bridge provides a firm seating for the strings, allowing the player to adjust and fine-tune the intonation and string height in a matter of minutes. It also yields excellent coupling between strings and body, maximizing resonance, tone and sustain. Bridge
Tailpiece
Every Tune-o-matic bridge is combined with a separate “stopbar” tailpiece, which is essentially a modified version of the earlier wraparound bridge that’s designed to further enhance the connection between the strings and the body. The Custom Shop 50th Anniversary 1960 Les Paul Custom’s stopbar tailpiece is made from lightweight aluminum, like the original, and is plated in gold. Tailpiece
Pickguard
The guitar carries an accurate reissue three-ply black/w/b pickguard, made in the image of the ’guard on the original 1960 Black Beauty. Pickguard
