Body
Species
The body of each Jonas Brothers Melody Maker is crafted from solid mahogany, one of the best—loved tonewoods in the history of the electric guitar. Mahogany not only offers classic resonant characteristics, but yields a lighter instrument than many other wood combinations.
Tonal Characteristics
Mahogany is a medium—dense wood with excellent resonance and superior sustain, and it offers a rich, round, warm tone, but with plenty of high—end sheen and good midrange presence.
Design
The Jonas Brothers Melody Maker follows the classic lines of the Melody Maker of 1959/'60, a timeless Gibson single—cutaway design.
Average Weight
The average weight of a raw Jonas Brothers Melody Maker body is 3.40 lbs.
Available Finishes
Color
The Jonas Brothers Melody Maker is finished in Satin White with custom "JB" shield graphic.
Satin White
Surface Texture
A hand—buffed, satin finish with a relatively low sheen factor of 30 lacquer gives the Jonas Brothers Melody Maker a tactile feel and makes it a fast, smooth guitar to play.
Process
The Jonas Brothers Melody Maker is hand—finished in nitrocellulose lacquer in a process that is carefully monitored to ensure minimum build—up, in an effort to produce a finish that breathes with the guitar and enhances natural resonance. The final coat is flattened to reduce sheen and produce a satin finish.
