Pickups
Pickups Models
Gibson P—90 pickups, accurate reproductions of the first pickup to appear on a Gibson solidbody electric guitar.
Magnet Material
Gibson's P—90 pickups carry two Alnico V magnets each.
Tonal Characteristics
A favorite of rock, blues and pop players, P—90s are beloved for their crisp yet silky highs, punchy midrange, and slightly textured overall tonality. They are single—coil pickups that offer plenty of bite in all positions, yet they retain much of the punch and aggression of vintage humbuckers, too. In the neck position the P—90 is warm, thick and creamy but with plenty of clarity, while in the bridge offers crunchy rhythm tones and gnarly, screaming lead tones through a cranked amp.
Electronics
Volume Controls
The Jonas Brothers Melody Maker uses a single "master" volume control, which consists of a quality 300k linear potentiometer for a smooth, natural volume roll—off.
Tone Control
The Jonas Brothers Melody Maker features a single "master" tone control, composed of 500k non—linear potentiometers with.022mF tone capacitor for a smooth transition from bright to warm.
Toggle Switch
The Jonas Brothers Melody Maker features one three—way Switchcraft toggle switch. In the down position, only the bridge pickup is active. In the middle position, both pickups are active. In the up position, only the neck pickup is active.
Output Jack
The guitar features a 1⁄4" output jack made by Switchcraft. Its super heavy duty construction holds your guitar cable securely in place.
