Firebird X winner Michael Larit rocks his own Epiphone Firebird VII.
Gibson Guitar was a major force at this year’s record-breaking Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The 2011 edition of CES featured the biggest international attendance in the four-day event’s history, and many of the guests were drawn to the display of cutting-edge technology at the Gibson booth — most notably, the groundbreaking new Firebird X guitar. Attendees had the chance to test drive the guitar, as well as attend demos, which highlighted Firebird X’s Robot tuning, onboard effects and Bluetooth capabilities. And they were able to enter a contest to win their very own Firebird X.
We are pleased to announce the winner of this drawing is New York’s very own Michael Larit. Michael, as it turns out, both tested the Firebird X and watched a demonstration.
“I think it’s really sweet,” he told Gibson.com. “I love to see manufacturers pushing the envelope, and I think you guys really did it with that. The Robotic tuner is awesome, and the onboard electronics are just amazing. Now there’s no reason to have separate rack mounts or any crazy amps: you can just do it all on the guitar. I think that’s amazing.”
Larit, a longtime Firebird fan and a proud owner of an Epiphone Firebird VII, says he was blown away by the CES demo:
“I don’t know the ins and outs of it, but I heard the guy demoing it and, man, this thing’s versatile. That’s for sure. I mean, you can go from jazz to bluegrass to rock ‘n’ roll to heavy metal to country to classical — I mean, this thing’s got it all. I’m just dying to get my hands on one now.”
