Alice Cooper will kick off his summer tour with three shows in Michigan this month before joining Motley Crue’s final tour - and he’ll have a new guitarist among his band’s ranks.
Alice has just named Nita Strauss as his new guitarist following the departure of Orianthi Panagaris. Orianthi has been playing and writing with Richie Sambora. Nita is known for playing with The Iron Maidens (the all-female Iron Maiden tribute band which regularly plays to packed houses at home in LA and around the world), the band Femme Fatale, and as ‘house guitarist’ for Arena Football League team LA KISS. She was recently ranked #1 on Guitar World’s 10 Female Guitar Players You Should Know list. Strauss joins Alice Cooper guitarists Ryan Roxie and Tommy Henriksen, plus longtime bassist Chuck Garric and drummer Glen Sobel.
Alice and co will be a part of the Motley Crue All Bad Things Must Come To An End tour until late November.
Meanwhile the documentary Super Duper Alice Cooper will be released on DVD, Blu-Ray, Deluxe Editions, and digital formats this month via Eagle Rock Entertainment.
The film was produced and directed by the Banger Films team of Sam Dunn, Scot McFadyen and Reginald Harkema, and the deluxe edition includes extensive bonus material film footage from a rare 1972 Montreal concert and a full length recent Alice Cooper concert from the 2009 Montreux Festival on CD.
