Allman Brothers Band Forced to Postpone Shows
The Allman Brothers Band, who are currently doing a run of 14 shows at the Beacon Theatre in New York City, have been forced to postpone the remaining four dates. The reason behind the postponement is mainman Gregg Allman falling ill with bronchitis. The band actually played two shows without Allman this past Friday and Saturday, but have now gone ahead and postponed the dates originally scheduled for March 25, 26, 28, and 29.
The Beacon Theatre has been sort of an unofficial touring home for the Allman Brothers Band. Since 1989 the group has played over 220 shows at the venue, according to Rolling Stone. On Sunday the band posted the following message on their Facebook page: “No guarantees but Gregg is improving and hopes to return to the stage for the last four Beacon shows.”
