Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan is set to perform an eight-to-nine-hour concert in Chicago at the end of this month—but don’t expect any Pumpkins classics.

As reported by Spin, the free concert will consist of an “ambient/musical” interpretation of author Hermann Hesse’s coming-of-age novel, Siddhartha, published in 1922. The show will be staged at Corgan’s own Madame ZuZu’s Tea House in Chicago’s Highland Park suburb on Feb. 28, starting at noon.

In a post on his Facebook page, Corgan indicated the performance would be "built on modular synthesis, on the fly," and that event T-shirts would be available. The singer added, “See http://MadameZuzus.com/ in coming days for details on seating and admissions.”

Earlier this month, Corgan posted a message that said he writing new Smashing Pumpkins songs. The band’s last album, Oceania, was released in 2012.
