Black Sabbath and Faith No More lead the line-up for the opening of the ten-day British Summer Time festival at Hyde Park in London, England on July 4.
Along for the ride are Soundgarden, Motorhead, Soulfly and many more yet to be announced. And to celebrate the occasion, the festival has renamed the first night Black Sabbath Time.
Faith No More last performed together run on July 10, 2012 at London’s Brixton Academy, the location of their 1991 live album.
Ozzy Osbourne is especially chuffed at the news, saying in a statement, “The first time I came to London I didn’t have a pot to piss in – I spent the advance I got for the first album on a new pair of shoes and some Brut aftershave. Almost 50 years on, we’re doing a bit better for ourselves, so I may even splash out on some new aftershave before taking to the stage at Hyde Park. It’s the most beautiful park in London and its gates have been opened to so many legends in the past. We’re beyond honoured to be allowed to put on a show – and we hope that Royals will enjoy it.”
Neil Young will headline on July 6.
Many more acts will be announced.
